Beautifying one of South Dublin’s most spectacular part ‘Blackrock’ , the newly renovated home of our client is the embodiment of rustic luxury. Once a tiny cottage, the space was turned from a 200 year old cottage which was about to be demolished into a dream living space and a boot room.
The Challenge
This 200 year old cottage was an outhouse in disrepair. The client wanted to upgrade it as a hangout zone/ play zone for kids. they also wanted a well designed, modernised space that was low maintenance.
The Solution
Large format 1500x1500mm Tattoo tiles from Versatile was a perfect solution including a narrow boot room. The chosen tiles had to have depth in colour & as for this reason we went for a metallic look tile. The tile selected also had a very durable finish using high strength quality porcelain. This was perfect for the client as the structure is also used for a boot room.
The metallic finish helps reflect light, creating a softer aura in the space and large format tiles that help create an interesting textural pattern. Despite this, they can be used in any room of the house, no matter how simple or complicated it is. These tiles are suitable for both indoor & outdoor use, which makes them ideal for people who love entertaining outdoors.
Customer Prospective
When we arrived first into Versatile to start our project, we didnt actually know what we wanted. Thanks to Gary, we always felt that we were into safe hands & the selection of tiles that he used was perfect. The maintenance is relatively zero. Everyone who comes to our home, admires the tiles. The large format is amazing because there is far less grout joints. We were able to put the tiles upto to each other with a seamless look. We were nervous on going for a metallic effect tile but the effect it gives to a large area is phenomenal. We are delighted, thank you Gary for all your good advice.
